Do i need a rehearsal?

Clauds, on July 9, 2020 at 11:32 Posted in Before the wedding 0 4

So I have officially found a spot to have my micro ceremony for next month. So happy and thrilled!

The only thing now is the matter of the rehearsal. The venue is operating on shorter hours due to covid and cannot really give us a day. We also have some members in the wedding who do not live in the GTA and would need a stay in a hotel. Not to mention our parents who would also need a hotel, which I don't feel comfortable having them do.

I was thinking of having a zoom call with my officiant to go a rundown of the ceremony and maybe draw up what order people will be walking in and standing etc. Does that seem like it can work?

Also, most of our party have been in weddings before so they at least have some experience with how things will flow.

Any other Covid brides still having a rehearsal?

I think it is something you could do with a zoom call if it is easier for everyone. Since you have a coordinator and a small wedding party. If you wanted the rehearsal you could do it but if you would rather not, I think you would be fine without.

You could always ask Malaparte if they can give you an hour during non-busy times for a rehearsal (like a weekday morning or afternoon, not during lunch or happy hour). I don't think your parents needs to be there for that. Just you, your FH, your officiant, and your coordinator just so he or she knows how to direct people on the day of.

We ended up with the rooftop of Malaparte. They were advertising microceremonies recently so I jumped on it right away So I'm not sure how easy it would be to get access to them during outside hours. I'm guessing things are locked once you get to the floor.

I do have a coordinator and a very small wedding party so that might also make the rehearsal less of a necessity.

If your venue is pretty straight forward, you can likely get away without a rehearsal. And if you have a coordinator to cue you, that helps immensely too.

Where did you end up going?
