Do i have to include the location/city on our save the dates?

Courtney, on April 28, 2022 at 15:02 Posted in DIY 0 6

We just booked our reception venue in the city we both work in. We own property just outside the city in a different county (about a 25 minute drive from the reception site). We're currently debating between having our ceremony at our property, his parents property (about a 15 minute drive from the reception site), or renting somewhere in the city. Do I need to include the city on our save the dates? If we decide to get married on our property, it would technically be a different location.

It's not necessary! You can just put the general location such as "Toronto, Ontario". For mine, we did include the church location for the ceremony because we knew the location at that time.

Typically you put the general location!

I didn't however we are having a smaller wedding and everyone knew it was in our backyard - but then changed to a family members backyard. So I am glad we left it out.

I think it is important to have a general location. For example we weren't sure if we were getting married in the city we live in (Medicine Hat) or a small town just outside the city so on our STD I put Medicine Hat Area. So guests knew it would be in medicine hat or somewhere near. In your cause I think you could do the same.

I did with mine! I don’t think it matters either way! You can design it however you’d like! Do i have to include the location/city on our save the dates? 1

I think just putting the date on your save the date is just fine. I don't think you need to put location on it until the actual invite itself.

My fiance and I put our location on ours only because we're have a "destination" wedding in another province.

The save the date is just that, a chance to put the date on hold from making plans and you can do all the formal info on your invitations. I think unless it's a destination wedding just the date is fine for now.
