diy Wedding Ceremony Backdrop/arch

Danika, on May 21, 2019 at 01:48 Posted in DIY 0 9

Hi there, I am looking to figure out an idea for our wedding ceremony backdrop/arch but I don't want those overdone arches that are all the trend right now. When I look at all these different photos they all look the same to me and nothing original that speaks to the couple.

No: copper pipe arch

No: simple wooden arch with fabric draping

No: weird geometric shapes

We are having our wedding outside on the patio of a museum that has a beautiful waterfront park behind it. I am willing to do the simple wooden arch painted white with something, but not sure what other options there are. I also thought about a grapevine wreath (36" wide) that you can buy from the craft store, but it would need to be supported up some how.

Let me know your ideas!

I think it would be absolutely beautiful with or without an arch!

I want to show you some of my favorites from WeddingWire's Instagram, because there are certainly some unique ideas -

This one is what I would suggest!! It looks great!

Only concern is transporting it to and from the venue of course.

We actually did a DIY archway, we just ordered a standard metal one of Amazon and then hung fake wisteria and ivy vines from it. The day of the wedding we are going to thread some tulle in it all around as well. It was super cheap and turned out really well so this could always be an idea

This is exactly what we are doing. My fiancé is building it and we will put it in our garden after the wedding

    Beautiful!
I'd say because it looks like a garden I'd go with a classic garden arbour. Then you could decorate that with the grapevines or flowers or however you see it fitting your wedding.

Do you have a picture of where you will be having your ceremony, specifically the spot you want to put the arch?
