diy Wax Seal for wedding invitations

Sam, on February 21, 2021 at 18:25 Posted in DIY 0 5
So I’ve gone all out with wax seals, I love them and think they’re so pretty, I’ve been making them to include on our wedding invitations + our menus. Is it extra to have two wax seals on our wedding invitations (one on the actual card) plus one to seal the envelope? I don’t want to go overboard but I just love the look of them!

I don't think there's anything wrong with going all out - if you have the budget for both and you like the look then by all means, enjoy!! I'm also using wax seals on my invitation envelopes and also on my save the date envelopes, with a specific "save the date" stamp and green sage colour that matches the envelope liner. Smiley shame

I thought seriously about using wax on my invites but decided against it after hearing about the many horror stories of these types of invitations getting completely mangled in the mail.

They look beautiful but given the increased cost of hand cancelling them (so they are not put through machine sorting) plus the additional cost for postage on anything heavier than 30g it just wasn't worth it to me. I'll be paying about close to $2.50 (including return postage) for each one as it is.

I think both place are good because more people keep the invitation than the envelope and they super fun to open and beautiful to see.

Plus if you send out save the dates than you can us it again than and on your thank you card envelope also!
Just go for it, no regrets

My one thought about sealing the envelope: is that the outer envelope that Canada Post is handling? If so I would skip it, because I imagine it would get damaged or even fall off in the machinery.

If it's for an internal envelope, go for it! It obviously makes you happy and that's what matters 🥰

I think just on the wedding invitation envelope is just enough!

But if you want to use them on both go ahead! It's your day!
