ISO opinions. So my bestfriend is getting married an we’re trying to do it very budget friendly because they are paying all by self and are both under 25. They are honestly doing a really good job for handling paying for it while renting and saving for house.
Im an undergraduate student with a MacBook and her fiancé has a back ground in editing and film making on Mac. We’re thinking to just make own video via clips of everyone, I’m just wandering if there’s any cheap videographers in Niagara Region or if you can recommend a good video camera. Or should phones be ok if it’s someone reliable.
Really we only want it for brief periods of getting ready, her in dress, little of ceremony and reception like less than 5 minutes and I can’t justify telling her she needs it. Videographers charge way to much IMO and it’s outrageous the cost just because it’s wedding related...

I went cheaper route as well with my videography. I rented iPods (5 of them) from a company called Wedit and gave them to our guests to record/shoot important moments from the day. The company collected them back and uploaded them to the website. We had the opportunity to download it all ourselves or pay them to edit it for us. We chose the second route because I'm too lazy to make my own. If you are interested, they charge about $374 USD plus shipping, so around $450 total. I thought it was a steal compared to a lot of the videographers were charging.

If you didn't want to spend the money on renting anything though, the iPods took great video and I think they looked pretty professional, so a phone or GoPro would work equally as well, in my opinion.

They are expensive! Though I have seen the work of a videographer that was 3000 and I have to admit it was worth the price! It is their profession! They have the tools and tricks to make their videos beyond impressive but it is for sure a huge cost! Being cosy effective doing something like this on your own is for sure a great savings!! I'm sure with the combined videos from everyone of their day they will be able to put together something magical! At the end of the day it's about the moments caught and remembered forever!

That’s what i was thinking. I’m willing to help and I offered my mac for the sake that they can create their own and have memories personalized. If it wasn’t for fact I’m currently a student working 3 jobs to try and pay everything I would help seeing no family is, but videographers are outrageous. I was quoted 4500 by one company, 2000 from another, like that’s crazy.

Honestly it's amazing what you can do with a small point and click camera! They all have video and you can still shoot something great! I mean you won't have all the fancy features a high end camera has but you can make similar effects if you know how to edit properly! I think phones and small cameras filming will make the whole video look so much more personal and intimate too!
