This is the first official item I made that I found from pinterest that wasn't a total disaster when we made them! We bought all of the supplies from Michael's. I can't recall what we paid for them but everything was likely around $50-$75 max. I know you can make or buy ones for cheaper but we wanted to make these ourselves. We painted the bases first with spray paint but they ended up looking silver so we decided to buy a jar of gold paint used to paint any type of material. This colour worked out much better. We used a general type of white glue and painted the numbers in them. We then sprinkled the glitter on them all over.
After they dried, we touched up any spots that were missing glue and then sealed them with a sealant. Sticking the numbers to the bases was a challenge. We thought we could just glue them together with wood glue but they seemed too wobbly when we did this. So my FH decided to nail them to the base. This worked out so much better and ensures that they likely won't fall apart during transportation.
I love how they turned out! We had to go with different bases as they didn't have 11 of the same bases in the store at the time that we bought them.
These were fun to make and can literally be done in any colour you want!
