diy Seed Packet Favours

Robyn, on February 11, 2019 at 12:03 Posted in DIY 0 15

Just wondering if anyone has made their own seed packet favors? I'm fine with designing and printing the packages themselves... I am having a really hard time finding the actual seeds though. Looking for a Canadian site if possible, and preferably wildflower seeds. Any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated!

We are doing seeds, my mom has a friend with a greenhouse who gave us all the left over seeds at the end of the season. Maybe contact a local greenhouse? My back up plan was Costco, they sell wildflower seeds in bulk or amazon. www.veseys.com is a company located in PEI though, not sure if they have seeds in bulk.

We went to our local nursery and they had a catalogue. We got to choose from like 10 different types of wildflower seeds and they came in various sizes. I'll try to remember where it was from, but your local nursery should be able to help for sure!

Hard time of year for finding seeds. I would wanna prep them asap like you’re doing, if you can afford to wait until April, They will be taking all the spring and summer stuff out in home and garden centres, or Canadian tire and stuff.

Now my go too fall back solutions is always amazon. I am a prime member and use them anytime I can! From my dogs poop bags to fake eucalyptus for my bouquet! I swear by them lol

By far the best place to buy wild flower seeds is American meadows. I’m planting an entire 1 acre field of wildflowers where I’ll have my ceremony and bought these:

    https://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/bulk-wildflower-seeds/northeast-wildflower-seed-mix

$30 usd for 1lb bag which will be plenty I’m sure!

In Toronto, I would say Fiesta Farms (on Christie between Bloor and Dupont).

My favourite plant shop is Plant World (Eglinton & Scarlett).

You can also try the lower level of St. Lawrence Market, and Loblaws.

Side note - My best friend's wedding invitation was on wild seed paper that could be planted. It was a lovely treat!

Home depot, Lowe's, Canadian Tire all those home and Garden stores usually have all sorts of seeds in the spring time!

Personally I think your best bet is to wait until spring rolls around and then most stores should have seeds in stock - even dollarama!

Otherwise right now I'm thinking that online would be limited to Amazon.ca?
