diy decor or hire decorator

Cheryl, on May 3, 2018 at 01:01 Posted in DIY 0 6
I'm torn between hiring decorator and pay much or doing DIY but problem have no people to help to set up. Thinking of simple backdrop which you can just put it to stand like flower backdrop? Any ideas how to make it? How much can you actually save doing DIY rather than hiring decorator to do simple stuffs?

I’ve found some things were actually cheaper to rent from a decorator, they’re not actually setting all the items we’ve rented up for us though we’ll do that with our wedding party and parents. Smiley smile

I have a lot of people willing to help me with set up and DIY. and i'm still thinking I will hire a decorator. and my biggest reason is that after being a bridesmaid 13 times and having to clean things up at the end of the night (and being drunk or tired etc etc), I just don't want to do that to my wedding party.
or like one girl said, DIY and then hire someone to set up/tear down.

If you don't have a problem doing the DIY yourself, you can make everything, and then hire a day-of coordinator who will get it all set up. It's a much more cost effective way of not having someone do all the work for you, but they will handle everything on the big day!

A simple Google search will give you lots of DIY ways to do a backdrop. You can save quite a bit of money if you DIY. The difference is the convenience. If you don't have people to help you set things up, or even to help you out making them (makes it go way faster), than that's where a decorator may come in handy. However, if you have plenty of time and enjoy the more artsy side of DIYing, go for it!

From some who is currently DIYing as much as possible you can actually save a good amount of money. Specially if your using the wedding FB pages, Michaels, and the dollar store. I’ve even cut down my own tree and ordered off eBay to save money but achieve the look I want. It’s about being savie and precise in what your looking for.
