Hi there!
I haven't really been active on the boards but as the day is getting closer and I'm finishing up some DIY stuff I thought I'd post a couple things as I do them. I just finished our cake topper.
We weren't sold on the figurines etc that are common, so we found a couple simple Mr and Mrs ones. I wasn't super convinced so I thought I look for something more "us". We travel for work and we wanted to include that in the cake topper somehow. ANYWAYS, a couple days ago I googled cake topper and saw a silhouette that was kind of cute with a bride and groom but I really didn't want to give away the style of my dress to my fiance. I realized that I've done silhouttes before and why can't I just custom make my own?? Well I did and here's the process and how it turned out!
Originals- I liked this picture, but Chet isn't looking at me, I traced the whole thing except his head....
.....and enlarged his head in this photo to work
Tracing- Quilters tape and scrapbooking pages from Michaels.
Finished! A little lopsided because I don't have the stands on them.
That's it!
