Anyone doing a Disney honeymoon? If so, where are you going? Are you choosing to stay at a Disney resort?

My FH and I just got engaged at Disney! Definitely a magical place.

We were scraping pennies to be able to go (we went before we both got full-time jobs with good salaries), so we stayed off-site. If you're the kind of people who can get easily exhausted, it's nice to be able to go back to an off-site resort and feel like you've left the Disney bubble behind for the evening. However, we are 24/7 energy people, and we definitely wish that we would have had enough to stay on property! We are saving up right now to try to go back and stay on property.

Make sure you plan out your days at the park. You can do everything you want if you plan it out, but if you don't, you'll likely end up waiting in huge lines because you didn't plan for them! We did everything we wanted and even had time to double our favourite rides, plus character meet and greets and parades. DM me if you want the plan that I had made for us, or just google Disney blogs, read all their advice, and put something together! But make sure you look into it long before you go! Smiley smile

You totally should do a Disney cruise! We are getting married at Disney’s private island and our reception will take place back on the Disney Dream! Disney offers many areas that are adult only, so there is an adult only pool and stuff like that.

LOVE DISNEY! Not having our honeymoon there (no way FH would go for that ha ha) but I visit the Disney Parks a fair bit.

I HIGHLY recommend staying on property for WDW - the benefits make it worth it, and it keeps you in the magical Disney bubble which is my favorite. If you are planning to go next September, September is a great time for them to release discounts and perks such as free dining if you book a room at a certain hotel etc.

    Have so much fun!

We are only doing a mini-moon right now (FH started a new job in September and doesn't have the vacation time yet) but we I SOOOO want to do a Disney Cruise!

Don't know if I will be able to convince the FH though.. plus I do like the idea of having a honeymoon somewhere that kids are not allowed...

I feel like it will also be worth staying on the property just for the convenience that we can just hop on a tram or bus and be back to our hotel in minutes. I am ready for lots of walking, but I am also wanted to enjoy the dining and other more intimate things to do at the parks.

I have heard it’s worth it to stay on property in Florida! Keep in mind the Florida Property is the size of San Francisco - it’s huge!

Nice! Right? That is what I am struggling with right now. We are doing Disney World and I have been looking at whether its a better deal to stay on the property where transit is free to the parks or stay somewhere else and have to uber to the parks. So far in my research it is about the same price. So I will have to see when the date gets closer.

We’ll be doing our “second honeymoon” at Disneyland next October! We never stay on property in California - it’s just not worth the cost when there are so many other great options for a better value!
