Deer Creek Golf Club Wedding

Natalie, on January 12, 2020 at 22:01 Posted in Wedding reception 0 4
Hi there lovelies!

I've booked to have my wedding at Deer Creek Golf Club Summer 2021 and at the time of booking thought it was the best decision of my life - It's pretty (even prettier after renos), in the budget, staff was pleasant.
As months gone by, I've gotten more and more anxious if I've picked the right one. Most notably about the food, I have a foodie friend that went to their tasting and said the food was "meh". They do have various upgrade options but they would carve a chunk out of my budget. I won't get my tasting until 12 months from now, so I was wondering if anyone has any experience to share? Really hoping to get some first hand feed back to get uncertainty off my mind. Thanks Smiley smile

I Totally agree with you on this! I have the same view on “foodies” too!

Although food is a big part of the wedding and one of the deciding factors about how good a wedding is - I wouldn't trust a "foodie". Most of the times that I get opinions from people who are called that or call themselves that they either have way too high of expectations or just mean they are a foodie because they enjoy eating food... which... most people do... but everybody has different tastes...

I wouldn't worry too much about it. At my cousin in-laws wedding last year her food was not the best (dry, no seasonings, etc.) but the only reason people talked about the food for a few months was because our wedding was a few months later and our food was that much better! Otherwise it would have been noted at the wedding, and then forgotten by the end of the summer.

I’m not sure what the deposit structure is like, or if they’d give it back to you if you pull out now. However, it looks like it fit into each category that was important to you so I wouldn’t let the other person’s opinion waver you. Food is a delicate subject and there’s always going to be someone (or a few people) who won’t like the food, no matter how delicious the it is. On the plus side since you have an entire 12 months until the tasting, I wouldn’t worry. That’s a crazy long amount of time for things to change, especially food on their menu!
