Dance for a wedding

Lindsey, on July 16, 2020 at 19:16 Posted in Wedding reception 0 6
Hey everyone!
I’m just a bit confused by the new guidelines in Stage 3.
I’ve heard both that you can have a dance and that you cannot. Can someone help me out with this? I don’t want to plan to have one and then not be able to. I don’t understand the government website outlining the guidelines.

    Thank you!
I was thinking we would do our first dance and then the mother son song at the least.
We still have 10 weeks, so fingers crossed for a few changes.

    Thanks!
Unfortunately we had to cancel our venue and are now going to do an outside tent wedding, so it’s up to us to figure it out!

For Ontario, as per the government's official wording from the Stage 3 Framework for Reopening:
"Dancing may only be performed by someone working at the establishment with restrictions."

Based on that, I would say you can hire a performer but as a group of guests, you are not allowed to dance.

I would assume most wineries will allow you to do a first dance with your hubby (considering you both don’t need to socially distance from one another) however dancing amongst guests will be forbidden.

I would ask your venue! They should be paying attention to all the rules and regulations and hopefully have a straight answer.

I imagine that people from family/friend bubbles can dance together, but you probably can't have the traditional people in one clump on the dance floor.
