TL: Chinese weddings usually start with a tea ceremony where the couple pours and serves tea on our knees to the two parents as a symbol of the unification of the families.
BL: At the reception, it is custom for the wedding couple, parents, and sometimes the wedding party to visit each table and toast a drink all the guests. This is the Chinese version of a receiving line. You scream ganbei, which translates to "dry cup" (ie down the drink), clink glasses, and take a gulp (or a few for some of the wilder party animals).
TR: Chinese wedding receptions usually start with a serving of roast suckling pig and pickled jellyfish (it sounds gross to some of you but I assure you, it is delicious!). The two items are supposed to represent the ying and yang of marriage.
BR: A flaky pastry with wintermelon filling that we call "wife cakes" lol. It'll be one of the dessert options at the reception.
