Anyone getting or supose to get married at the Calgary Zoo? I'm wondering if you have heard anything from them. We are scheduled for August 1, but now I'm debating to postpone!

Hi! No, we have a large wedding (at least 150 guests), so there's no way we can lower it enough to comply with Covid if that's still going on. I'm hopeful that once the curve peaks and starts flattening that they will start lifting restrictions, but we'll have to wait and see...

Hi, thanks for the insight. Do you have a contingency plan for lowering your guests with keeping the Aug 1 date?

One thing to consider with postponing, is that there *may* be a 2nd or 3rd wave of this in the future. I was originally thinking of just "ripping the bandaid" and postponing our August 1, 2020 wedding, so that I could just focus on a new date and not stress about whether Covid would be on it's way down by August 1... however, my maid-of-honour (a nurse in Edmonton) mentioned the possibility of future waves of covid, and that we really don't know what will happen over the next year. There's a possibility that a new date might also be affected by Covid...which would really suck. So we're still planning on August 1, 2020...but if it's looking bad by June, we'll probably have to pull the trigger to postpone at that point. Good Luck!

I am not getting married at the Zoo, nor have I heard anything but I would wait a bit to consider postponing. I think for anyone with April and May weddings, the situation is very real right now. But after that, we don't really know what is going to happen and it might just be ok.

That being said, if its easy for you and you would feel better postponing because then at least its your choice, I get that! I have a few friends getting married in June & July and they are still planning to go ahead with the wedding for now. So until they start to postpone, I am not so worried about the later weddings.

    Take care!
