covid restrictions on dancing

Kaitlyn, on January 27, 2022 at 17:51 Posted in Ontario 0 3
Hi everyone, I’m a fairly new bride getting married in November 2022 and I’m trying to see what the rules are for dancing at weddings? I went to a wedding in October 2021 and they weren’t allowed any dancing other then the first dance, and parent dances. Is dancing still not allowed at wedding? I can’t really seem to find any restrictions stating yes or no.
Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks!

You also need to realize that there is a provincial election happening this summer so whatever plans Ford made could go out the window because another party could potentially be in charge.

As for dancing, when we were in Step 3 last year, dancing was allowed but people are supposed to be masked. The truth is, a lot of people likely didn't obey that rule. In fact, a lot of venues and vendors have been turning a blind eye to a lot of the rules. Not the place to debate whether or not it's a good or bad thing but basically, just because you see something happening, doesn't mean it's allowed and just because it's not allowed, doesn't mean it's not happening.

That being said, some venues purposely place additional restrictions beyond what the province sets out for their staff's health and safety, something they are allowed to do.

As Carmel states, it's way too early to anticipate what restrictions will look like towards the end of the year.

I recommend following the Ontario Wedding Association on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/ontarioweddingassociation/?utm_medium=copy_link
They answer all these questions, however it's way too early to know what November will be like (I think it's too early to decide on March even like Ford has but anyway). We also found that each health unit interprets the rules a bit differently so talking to the one where your venue falls is likely your best bet.

When we did our wedding. We danced the night away. It probably depends on the venue and when it comes closer to the time of the wedding with all these changes. However, I’m sure you would be great at that time!
