What is everyone planning for their weddings, we originally had 40 people planned for our June wedding, have cut the list even further. Starting to lose hope that we will be able to have anymore than 10 Smiley sad

Man oh man. that is what is making me so mad about all these restrictions. We can go to a restaurant (I went to sushi the other day and there is no way they were 15% fire code, IT WAS PACKED) but yet we can't have a wedding. Meanwhile here Calgary is saying the stampede can go on as planned. If stampede can happen but we can't have our wedding with 50 people, I WILL BE VERY VERY UPSET and writing multiple angry letters... haha. At the end of the day Marrying my fiancé is the important part and if we can only have 10 we are eloping in the mountains, but its just frustrating knowing -people aren't taking it seriously, our restrictions are a joke and literally the day I have dreamed out forever is all a big question mark because of the pandemic.

Hi everyone. We have postponed from July 31, 2020 to May 21, 2021. Since we only had a 64 person guest list to begin with, we will be looking into cutting down to 50. If we can't do that then we will be getting married anyways with just our parents and moving the reception to next year as I just can't go through another postponement. Our venue has been amazing and had let me know that if in April they are still not able to give us the 50 person wedding, we can cancel or postpone again without penalty. So right now we are the "wait and see people" which is extremely stressful for me being super type A. LOL.

Hey everyone! I’m getting married on May 22. Does anyone have any hope that restrictions will be lifted by then? I just had a good cry over the possibility that I might only be allowed 10 people. The problem is, I come from a large family, so all together my immediate family + brother-in-law and nephew is 11 people. That doesn’t include my fiancé! I would be happy with even 20 people, but 10 is just heartbreaking. We were trying to problem solve, and discussed having our “reception” at the restaurant that we had planned to cater for us. My fiancé is friends with the owner. Since restaurants are open, maybe we could have a rotating table of guests? Like friends A + B can come eat and hang out at the table next to us from 6-6:30, friends C + D can come eat and hang out from 6:30-7, then we could have a small backyard campfire with my family afterwards. What do people think of this idea? Too out there or brilliant problem solving? Otherwise I can’t think of a way to involve important friends during our wedding day other than zoom.

We are just waiting to see what happens over the next few months. I am telling everyone to arrange certain accommodations but be sure cancellation is free.

I am just hoping something let’s up. It’s so stressful! Right now we have 44 people on our guest list.

My fiance and I are in the same boat. We're waiting a couple more months to see if things change for the better but we're losing hope that we'll have our wedding in August. We might have to postpone a second time Smiley sad We're getting married in Kelowna BC but live in Edmonton and BC has the same gathering restrictions only 10 people.
