Covering tv at venue

Jessica, on January 18, 2021 at 19:37 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 10

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to cover the TV at our venue without resorting to draping the entire wall?

Are you have a videographer? If so, perhaps you can use it so they can stream it directly as they record Smiley smile

A nice sign with hooks to go over the TV may hide it given with the outer measurement of 2 inches more. The sign can say Your names wedding with patterns around the edging. Here is an idea of it:

Would hanging a picture or a painting in similar dimensions work?

Hi, I didn't even notice it but I do understand your pain about it. I have one over the fireplace and that is where our ceremony is. And I am racking my brain to figure out a way to cover it. The venue said that in the past they put a monogram up on the screen but I'm not in love with that idea.Covering tv at venue 2

I didn't notice it until you mentioned the TV! I think covering it with anything other than a drape will draw attention to it.

What if you played something on the TV screen like your program, slideshow of photos, or just had your names + the wedding date in nice script?

I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned there was a tv to cover. I would leave it be, or maybe speak with the venue about what other couples have done. It might also help to mention it to your photographer so they can work around it and avoid capturing it in the most important shots.

I think it will draw attention to it if you cover the tv

Have you talked with the venue? They might have suggestions of what other people have done or they may be able to take it off the mount for the ceremony.

I think adding anything too decoration-y there will only call attention to it unless you add a lot of decor to the walls. Something you could do that will blend in with the room would be to create a box out of plywood and finish it to a colour similar to the walls. You could just have it sit over the mount and it'll look like there's a duct there or something. It won't be pretty but it will probably look like it's part of the room.

My other suggestion would be a large hanging plant (or a few depending on how big the TV is). It looks like there's a shelf where they could sit on top of the TV mount? But I do think it might still call attention to the TV rather than hide it.

I personally don’t think it’s noticeable, but realistically you can probably only cover it with flowers and it might look odd.

Does it bother you that much? Anything used to covering it will just add elements to the wall or take up space on the floor.
