Couples getting married on October 9, 2020 in Ontario

That's no good. I believe all Venues should give their customers a chance to re-book with no penalty, its not like you are "cancelling" you are just re-booking.
I just hope you can have a wedding the way you had planned and that there are no restrictions.

We are going ahead as of now...unfortunately we didn't get a choice. We had all but decided to postpone due to several reasons (added stress, uncertainty, international guests, etc) and even contacted our vendors to see what their policies would be if we were to take the plunge. Our venue, however, refused to push our date as it is their policy to work sequentially (meaning every wedding before ours would have to be postponed before they would let us). I totally get why they are doing it that way, but it sucks that we can't be proactive. Now if everything hits the fan, it'll be a last-minute stressful scramble to rebook with potential financial losses.

But I'm obviously really, really hoping that won't happen and everything will be fine. We are trying to look on the bright side and keep planning accordingly, but it's certainly very frustrating. I'm also really hoping we'll still be able to go on our honeymoon (st lucia).

Anyway, rant over, TLDR: we are going ahead and hoping for the best!
