Couples getting married on June 11, 2022 in Ontario

We're doing ours at 5pm, it's close to golden hour if I'm not mistaken

My rough draft…..

2:30 ceremony 3:00 Cocktails 4:45 Dinner 6:30 First Dance 9:45 Late Night Snack

I'm almost a year out again(covid effected) for our wedding. We are doing the ceremony at 2 p.m. as we find that the brightness is not so bad at that time so won't ruin our pictures. Also it make sense to do it at that time for our time line.

If you aren't beholden to any particular religious ceremony times, I'd try to aim for a ceremony between 2pm-4pm. Sunlight is the most harsh from noon to 2pm, which can wash you out in photos, especially in high contrast settings like black tuxedos and white wedding dresses. The harsh light means everyone will need sunglasses to be comfortable (not to mention the poor heads of bald people getting hit from direct vertical sun exposure).

After 4pm, the stored heat from the sun makes it so the air temperature is the hottest of the day, especially if there's no shade and you're getting direct western exposure.

Technically the most comfortable time to have a ceremony, especially in June, is around 7pm but almost no one is willing to push a reception that late.
