I'm getting married on Aug 17, 2019 in Victoria BC

Getting married on Aug 17 as well in University Golf club! Im planning my own wedding as well... I actually didnt spend much on invitations but had my brother helped me with my save the date video (coz he has a drone too) and linked it to my wedding wire website and served as an electronic invite with all the details of the wedding venue and reception! best to get their attention to RSVP too and you wont have the hassle of replying to messages where and what time coz they loss your invitation since its all online As long as you have booked your venue, pick up your dress, transpo, DJ, photogrpaher (which I found in facebook as well) you'll be fine. Enjoy planning! Don't stress too much!

I'm also getting married on August 17th Our wedding is in Langley and we are planning it on our own as well. I've found that focusing on 1-2 big vendors at a time has really helped me not to get too overwhelmed with booking, and it also allows me to keep more detailed notes of each quote to help us make the best decisions for us.

I have also had lots of luck finding decor items online though Facebook Marketplace. I'm still looking for large sheets of white or ivory fabric for draping so if anyone happens to have that let me know! I'm hoping that I will find a few more things last minute as the May/June/July brides start to sell their items.

Congratulations! That venue is going to be awesome!

Best advice I can give you is to keep lists, stay organized, and don't freak out! #1 thing to do first is to set your budget, and STICK TO IT. If you're not overspending, and know you're on track for timing/schedule, you'll be totally fine!

I’ve found it really helpful to take advantage of communities like Wedding Wire and Bridechilla to get perspective on what me and my FH find important. Ultimately it’s about US and OUR day and if you set the expectation that you won’t sweat the small stuff or let other people stress you out, stick to it and enjoy the ride!

As mush as I don't have the same date - I am basically planning my wedding on my own as well (although the FH is helpful in planning the wedding social).

One tip is - don't stress the small stuff!! As long as you have the basics already (venue(s), dress, officiant, food, booze, and DJ) then you should be fine!

Just remember that if you do get stressed or need help, that's what this Wedding Wire community is here for!
