It is never too early to plan! First thing is first - set a budget and come up with a rough guest list. You don't need to know exactly who you are inviting or tell your guests yet, but if you have a general idea of the numbers that will help you keep to your budget and pick an appropriately sized venue. And know that important vendors like caterers, venues, and photographers can book very early so I'd book those soon.
