How are things going? FH and I really struggling to lock down a venue - I thought budget would be our biggest issue, but finding something that suits are personalities has been the most challenging part!

I'm trying to find middle ground between a venue that feels formal and laid back. We're not formal people, a golf course or banquet hall just doesn't feel right for us. I realize I'm not marrying the venue, but I still don't want it to feel stuffy.

To be honest, I have no idea what a venue that "suits my personality" would be. We looked for something in our budget that would be convenient for us to make arrangements for and that didn't have a fixed caterer list. It was also nice that there was a free outdoor ceremony venue 100 feet away and some scenic views for pictures.
The only downside that we found with our venue is that they don't allow us to bring our own alcohol, but we're making it work.
I'm not marrying the venue. I'm throwing a party there.
