Cost of Officiant's Services

We likely won't have a rehearsal dinner given we don't have a wedding party (save a flower girl and ring bearer), so it's interesting to see the difference in pricing! We haven't booked an officiant yet, but it's something I plan to look into soon so that we properly understand the process.

Ours is $470 including travel and a witness (we're eloping). He gave us a whole bunch of vows and texts we can choose from, as well as websites and which part of the ceremony we can personalize.

$495 ceremony (includes 2 meetings before) + $125 for rehearsal dinner.

We actually won the ceremony fee at a bridal show so we only had to pay her $125. So we got lucky! She gave us access to a website that had various readings, statements , vows etc. That was really helpful!

We are giving our pastor $300 for his time. We won't have to pay for the church itself since we are members. And I've been going there since I was 13 (14 years ago).

Ours is $200, the Nova Scotia standard rate. An extra $100 for rehearsal dinner. And depending on where the ceremony is, a travel fee.

Ours is $400, plus a small travel fee.
She gives us an outline of the ceremony that we can change in anyway possible, online access to a website where we can find readings, ideas, etc (it's absolutely amazing!) Two meetings with her before the ceremony. She files our marriage registry and mails our marriage license for us. She helps with anything wedding related. And after the wedding she gives us a "post wedding kit". She will arrive at the ceremony site about 30 minutes beforehand, also offers a rehearsal. And she's absolutely amazing, I know people that have either been married by her or attended a wedding she did and they all absolutely love her. Not a single bad review! I'm very excited to have her officiate our wedding.

It depends on what you do. If you go with a company or service, they can be pricier, as the include a couple meetings, personalization, etc.

In BC, we have a way to look up officiants on the BC government website, and they have several to find in your area for a fee of $75. They can then choose to allow for additional meetings, personalization, travel, etc, for additional costs, agreed upon by you.

They run from $250 to 400. They all differ.

Ours is $300.

That's a basic ceremony... so he'll be onsite for like 45 minutes and he sends off the documents.

We also get unlimited calls or meetings with him before the event.
