Civil marriages don't take long as religious services. We had a civil marriage and customized to our choices of poem, vows and closing announcement as a couple.

Civil marriages are the same as other marriages.

Civil ceremonies are basically the same but without religious aspects. They are quite common these days and also tend to be a lot shorter and can be personalized more.

I think Civil ceremonies are becoming just as common as religious ones these days!

My FH and I both come from different backgrounds and neither of us are overly religious so we opted to go without for the wedding and do a Civil Ceremony as well.

We are not religious people, so we’ll be enlisting the services of an officiant who can perform civil ceremonies.
I agree that they are quite common! I think I’ve only ever gone to 1 religious wedding, in my short lifetime!

We had a medium sized wedding and our ceremony was a civil service - we're not religious so we didn't incorporate any faith elements into our wedding. I'd say go for it. Most town halls offer wedding services and you can get married for a small fee and then go out somewhere nice for dinner with your group that you choose to invite. Nice and simple!

My and my FH are both not religious, and we will be having a civil ceremony for our wedding ceremony. I think they are very common these days!
