Choosing wedding ceremony separate category on invite/rsvp

Daniel, on December 25, 2016 at 04:17 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 9

Hi everyone!

I'm wondering how do I separate my Ceremony and Reception as two events for our wedding. This is because we will have guests only attending the ceremony and guests only attending our banquet reception.

Thanks,

Daniel

    Hi Maria,

Thanks for those tips, I loved the suggestions and those maps are amazing. As I wrote in my reply to Melissa, I had to create a new invitation for ceremony only guests and proceded to use the website just for Reception/Banquet guests.

    Hi Megan,

I had the same problem and I'm sure that's why you posted on this thread. I couldn't find a way around it on one wedding website so I decided to do it separately. Ceremony guests were to RSVP via a email account and the Reception guests were to RSVP via the wedding website.

Hope that clears things up for you.

    Hi Melissa,

We ended up having 2 separate invites for thoses guest who are attending the ceremony only and banquet only. We used wedding wire's RSVP for the banquet guest only and created a new email account for the ceremony only guests. It worked out well as we only had to keep track of 22 invites for the ceremony only guests. The bulk of the invites were still going through Wedding Wire's RSVP which is what we wanted.

    Regards,

    Daniel

I am using the wedding website only for the reception. I'm only mentioning again that the ceremony will precede and be private and leaving it at that. I think it will be less confusing that way. But I'm not sure how it would work if you were doing a separate ceremony with more than a few people.

If anyone had a wedding website, how did you make it clear on there (the distinctio between ceremony and reception guests)?

Hi Daniel, welcome to WW Canada Coomunity Smiley smile

We are very glad to see your disscusion, it's great to know you have already started with your planning. Actually you almost read my mind, beacuse I have just created this topic that could help you with the text:

Wording templates for your wedding invitations

Everything You MUST Include on a Wedding Invitation

Although, Melissa's example is perfectly for you too. What do you think?

Thanks Sam! I had a lot of help (*hem* Val) to make sure it was clear, but still friendly and not cold sounding....but still formal. Never in my life did I expect under 100 words to be so full of potential disaster

    Hi Daniel!

My FH and I ran into the same issue- we wanted to make it cler the most of our guests are invited to celebrste our marriage with us... after a private ceremony. We have not decided on wording yet for our ceremony, but only 10 people will receive those...so I'm not worried yet.

For our "reception" invites we have decided on

    Bride Name

    and

    Groom Name

Will be married in a private ceremony on June 10, 2017

We invite you to celebrate with us that evening at our reception

    Venue address

    XXXX

    XXXX

Cocktails hors d'oeurvres and dancing to begin at 7:30

    RSVP requested....etc. etc.

Does this sound like something that you might be able to use? let me know what you decide on Smiley smile
