Choosing Drink Selection

Megis, on June 29, 2018 at 07:30 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8
I have about 30 guests for my wedding. Only about 24 will be drinking. So I don't think an open bar is the best option.

I'm not sure how to decide drinks. Yes will will definitely have champagne. But I'm not sure how to plan the other drinks.

I've tried asking a few guests what their favourite drink is. But it's as difficult as hunting down rsvps.

My only thought is getting a bit of everything then returning the unopen bottles. Not sure about what quantity to get.

Any suggestions?

I think some basics could be beer, rum, vodka and wine! Keep it generic and simple! People will enjoy it! A few bottles each of the big bottles and maybe grab 2-3 cases of a standard beer (1 case canadian and 1 Coors light) and I think you're solid!!

this is what my hall gave me as recommended amounts of booze to purchase. if you are purchasing booze from LCBO, you can return unopened bottles. with beer. you can only return completely unopened cases.

if the some of things (like Sambuca, peach schnapps etc), those are good to have for fun shots. but totally not necessary either.

    hope this helps!

Get a few bottles or red and white, a couple cases of beer you like, and one bottle each of vodka, rum, and whiskey ( depending on preferences).

We’ll be doing a limited open bar that consists of beer, wine, mimosas (we’re having a a brunch reception), and a signature drink.

I agree with Erin and Tori. If your venue requires you to get a Special Occasion Permit from the LCBO, you (or a guest you assign this responsibility to) will be able to return any unopened bottles.

I agree with you and Erin, as long as you make sure not to open 2 of the same alcohol at the same time you should be safe to get 2 of each type of liquor. As for beer - I would get maybe 3 24's? And wine I would get 6 of red and 6 of white?

I would get a couple of bottles of a few different popular liquors (vodka, rum, tequila, rye etc) and some mixes that can be used across the board and return the unopened unused portions as you stated.
