Choosing a venue

My fiance and I saw two venues this weekend. We absolutely love them both. I am leaning more towards one and he is leaning more towards the other but I think either way we are both happy. We are waiting on a quote from one of the venues, which may make the decision easier if there is a big difference in cost. But if there isn't, does anyone have any suggestions on what factors to consider/break the tie?

That's tough. Others may feel different but as someone who works in events, I can't spend a ton of money renting a space without a proper site visit. There are just too many variables to factor that can make or break an event.

Definitely consider the pricing outside of the catering and rental quote. Does one force you to use an in house DJ? Is one more bland in the interior where you'll have to spend more on decor? Do any of them have exclusivity clauses with particular vendors? All of this can add up.

That's the big one for me. The one we saw in person is the one I am leaning towards. The other was on zoom and it looked nice. But I felt some emotion actually being in the other space which is definitely swaying me in that direction.

Did you visit both in person or was it via a virtual tour online? I'd be real hesitant to book something without seeing it in person. What they show you online can be VERY different than what's reality ie banged up furniture, nasty bathrooms etc.
