Choosing a Date

Amanda, on August 22, 2020 at 20:11 Posted in Ontario 0 5
What date would you choose for your wedding?

I'm trying to decide between early October of 2021 ..... Or Late May/Early June of 2022.
We don't want the temperatures to be super hot outside . So we are avoiding the hot summer months to get married. We live in Central Ontario. Weather-wise what date above do you think would be more reliable with better weather? (No rain...hopefully, not too hot, not too cold). Our venue has both times avaliable so we just need to make a decision.

Excellent suggestions. I didnt even think of this! I will keep this in mind when choosing a date.
We were hoping to host the ceremony outdoors and then reception inside.

Are you keeping the entire wedding outdoors? Or just the ceremony?

If you're just hosting the ceremony, I'd take October. It's cooler than June but not cold to the point of uncomfortable. During the day, it'd be a nice breeze.

If you're keeping the entire wedding outdoors, I'd take June. Less chance of rain compared to October, which can also be pretty nippy for prolonged stays outside in formal wear. June is much more bearable in the evening but the daytime can be hot, which some will like and some will hate. The cons about June outdoors though is the higher concentration of pollen for those with allergies and way more bugs.

I feel like early October is pretty warm! Especially around thanksgiving. Meanwhile, I usually find May a pretty rainy/wet month with unpredictable weather

Thanks for the reply. You're completely right. I never thought of it that way (the flowers or leaves thing). I prefer leaves...not much of a floral person.

    Hi Amanda!
The good thing is they’re both very similar times of year that both can work really well. The rain risk and temperature range is the same for both, the difference that would probably decide it is would you prefer flowers or leaves?
