Thank you for your suggestion. I think it's a great idea and it will make them feel they are a big part of our day!

Our plan is to have a backyard BBQ type reception casual and family friendly! I like the idea of having them responsible for the important parts of the wedding, holding the rings.

I remember seeing a video where the step dad got down on one knee and gave the bride's daughter a ring too! Making them a family unit. It was so cute!!! It would be great to get something for both for children, from both of you, that would symbolize becoming a family!

Hey Megan! Welcome to the community! That's such an amazing idea to make your children feel special on your wedding day!! I love Valerie's idea!! You could also make them flower girl and ring bearer but give them more reponsibility by letting them choose.

I agree with Valerie! I was thinking even giving your children a small gift like ring for your daughter and son or something special as a small keepsake. Hope this helps.

I always think it's sweet when the kids walk their momma down the aisle.

You can make them a junior bridesmaid and groomsman.

Or have them hand you the rings (not really a ring bearer, but just have them be in change of them at the ceremony and have them had them to you rather than the best man)
