Charger Plates

Tiffany, on July 1, 2019 at 20:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 13
My FH and I have decided to do a buffet for our wedding meal. The company is providing all dishes and cutlery we do know that we need to rent/buy glasses for our wedding but do I need to get charger plates to set the table with or not? I’m so confused. Help!

I’m in Canada, this is the Canadian WeddingWire! Smiley smile

I haven’t spoken with my venue in a while so I’m not sure what is/is not allowed but I haven’t heard anything about not being able to have charger plates.

What state are you in? I want the look of charger plates, But I was told I can’t use them in the state of GA. Due to COVID... has anyone heard that?

I personally would skip the chargers. At my venue I am responsible for anything I bring in including rented dishes so after dinner when plates are cleared you would need to keep track of those chargers if that is the case for you also.

For the table setting, charger plates can be skipped since your guests will be eating and not be placing them on the chargers. Keep it simple and low cost. The glasses can be rented so that the company can wash them and you have less to worry about. Plus they do the work of putting them out and stacking them after the event so you don't have any work to do.

I would say yes to charger plates if the company or venue was offering them part of the set up.

I know a lot of people have said that it all depends on the look you want (which is true), but I also think it depends on your budget. Charger plat4es can be expensive and I think you need to see if it's somethin you want to spend money on.

I agree with everyone here : It's really all about the look you want to achieve and your personal preference.

We're also offering dinner buffet-style and won't be using charger plates. Personally, we don't like them and our wedding is a bit more on the casual side.

Were planning on using charger plates purely for
aesthetic purposes! i think they look nice to have, which is while we’ll be using them!

It's all about the look. The vendor we got for our wedding supplies paper plates and plastic cutlery.. naturally I'm looking elsewhere for plates, cutlery, and charger plates if I can find them in copper or wood.

I agree with Casey, it’s all about the look you’re going for.

we are having charger plates because it goes with our theme and fits the venue.

I don’t think it’s a must have by any means though.

I think it depends on the look you are going for. If you want to add a little bit of colour to your tables you could add the chargers. Personally I find charger plates to get in the way and make the table too crowded.
it honestly is personal choice when it comes to this!
