Changing Ceremony Time

Shaelyn, on May 9, 2021 at 15:36 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 5

Originally when I started planning our wedding timeline I thought we'd have our ceremony at 3pm, and then planned the rest of the day around this. Our invitations went out, and they all say 3pm. However, after putting more thought into it and trying to make the most of our photography coverage (and to catch that delicious golden hour sunset), I'm realizing that it may make more sense to adjust our ceremony start time to 4:30.

Not sure what the etiquette is on this... We have a smaller guest list (about 50 people), and are sharing most info through our wedding website. Is it okay if I change this detail on our guests? Or should I just try to make 3pm work?

TIA!

It can work to your benefit and a simple email or text to guests for timing change on the website so they are aware. Its nice to have a sunset wedding and the pictures taking place after the ceremony.

I think it's totally fine to change the start time since you have a few months before your wedding. But definitely make note of it on your website and I'd also try to send a mass email out to everyone to make sure they know about the change. People might not pay a lot of attention to the website if they think they have all of the information on the invite (I'm specifically thinking older people might do this).

Have you had anyone rsvp yet? If not, I think i would just make a note on your wedding website (maybe on the RSVP page, or even the homepage) to indicate the time change and make sure it is clear. That way people will see it when they go to RSVP

You have three months so if you tell them in advance, it's fine.
