Change of Date

Dani, on September 12, 2022 at 12:50 Posted in Wedding ceremony 1 14
I am thinking of changing my wedding date from Sept 2 to Oct 7th. Do you think it'll be too cold to have a ceremony outside at that time of year in Ontario?

IMO it depends where in Ontario you are...

You could get lucky with an absolute gorgeous day...October is tricky like that! What is your reasoning for changing the date? I think Sept. is a safer bet but if you are wanting it in October I would just incorporate heaters and cute flannel blankets or something and I'm sure it will work out beautifully!

If you're having the ceremony before 4pm, it should be fine because the sun will still provide some heat and people can layer up.

Just make sure you tell your guests that it is an outdoor ceremony during nippy weather. I went to an October wedding last year where the ceremony was at 4:30pm and they had to cut it short because the middle-aged folks and elderly were getting too cold. (To be fair, they were also stupid for not wearing the proper clothes knowing it's an outdoor ceremony during that time of year but there's also no winning in fighting your grandparents on a day that's mean to be celebratory).

I'm going to write down the temperature for this year and see what they plan for next year and pray to mother nature to give me the same temp or better. But living here I have no choice to go with the flow and make the best of it. Also this year the forecast has been wrong. Not sure where the radio and news get their info but they were off all summer.

I also went on Pinterest for rain picture inspo and snow fall inspo and make the best of it.

I know that's what makes me nervous about this time of year.

We do have an indoor back-up plan at the venue so that is good Smiley smile

It's a hit and miss, we do live in Ontario, one day flip flop the next winter jacket. Make sure your venue has a back up plan in case it rains if you do it outside. Our venue is outside but they offer heaters and if it rains we can use the indoors.

Ya not bad at all! That’s what it says our weather is going to be for my wedding in a couple weeks! We are getting married outside and reception is inside so I don’t think it will be too bad! I just told people on my wedding website that ceremony is outside and weather permitting (may need a jacket)
