Ceremony Songs

Liberty, on January 17, 2022 at 13:33 Posted in Wedding ceremony 1 9
Have you picked out all the songs you need for the ceremony?
Typically for a ceremony you will need the following songs. Now this will vary depending your ceremony.

1. Songs for while guests arrive 2. Processional (bridal party entrance)3. Brides entrance 4. Processional (couple/bridal party exit)
Have you picked out your songs yet? This is something I'm struggling with so please leave some suggestions!
For music when guests arrive, I'll probably just let the DJ figure it out.I don't have a song yet for the bridal party entrance.I'm planning on walking down the aisle to From the Ground Up by Dan + Shay. Then we plan on exiting to Glad You Exist by Dan + Shay. I also would like a song for when we are signing the marriage license!

We had a DJ play songs while the guests were arriving and being seated and the song choices we had for the processional entrance and grooms entrance for 1 song though it was supposed to be separate. The song was an Indian choice as the first dance was english. A Thousand Years song is a nice choice for the bridal entrance to make your husband know your love is the most important to him and to look forward of a new chapter as one.

We hired a string quartet that we are really hoping we can use. Depending on restrictions and how many we can have at the chapel the day of ceremony. They sent us a very detailed list of songs that they normally play while guests are arriving (we can move around the order and if we give at least one month they are willing to learn any song for the walk down the aisle). I read their list of what they normally do and I'll leave it as is. On their Facebook page they have them playing God only knows by the beach Boys and it is so fun that I'm going to get them to play it sometime while they are there. As for walking down the aisle we are using cannon D I can't even imagine a different song with a string quartet.

    Here's what I did:

    1. Songs for while guests arrive - Vitamin String Quartet

    2. Bridesmaids entrance - Sax cover of Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight"

    3. Groom and Mom entrance - Sax cover of 98 Degrees' "I Do (Cherish You)"

    4. Bride Entrance - I sang a cover of Jim Brickman's "Beautiful" as she walked down the aisle (though I did change one line of lyric to reference an inside joke)

    5. License Signing - Sax cover of Elton John's "Your Song"

    6. Recession - Sax cover of Michael Buble's "Everything"

I haven’t thought of these at all yet - we hired a harpist (I’m super excited!) for both the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Here's what we did (not sure if it will help)
    1. Don't remember haha I think my husband's cousin just played nice songs on his guitar
    2. Everyone (this includes parents) entered to Chris Stapleton Millionaire (performed by cousin)3. I walked in to Can't Help Falling in Love - also performed by cousin 4. Cousin is in a world champion pipe band and given my husband's Scottish routes we exited to him piping (yes so talented!)We didn't have to sign while everyone waited thankfully so I don't have suggestions for that. I would just have the DJ play whatever when guests arrive. It won't be a focus anyway.
