Ceremony Processional

Amelia, on July 3, 2018 at 20:00 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 15

How long will it take to walk down the aisle?

I'm trying to pick a song to walk to and i was thinking 5 minutes should be decent. theres 4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, 2 flowergirls and 1 ring bearer, but one flower girl is going to pull the other two in a wagon behind her. and then it will be me and my dad.

I'm not exactly sure how long the aisle is. its an outdoor ceremony and i havent decided where to set the ceremony circle up yet.

We will have a very short aisle so I can't see mine taking longer then 3 minutes total. The song I have picked out is actually only 3 minutes long. We will do a trial run and I will have a back up song or second song to be safe. If need be the wedding party can use one and I will use the other.

Depending on the length of the isle I would plan for a bit longer. And consider how you want everyone to walk: are your waiting till everyone has reached the front, pause for everyone to stand, then bride entree. Or are you doing more of a condensed procession where there is no pause and everyone stands for the whole thing?

And do you want your own song or all the same song? I would also plan for kids to take longer than adults to walk down (especially if they are younger). And how fast can your girls walk in their shoes (I walk pretty slow in heels compared to flats). If you can I would go to the space with someone else and time it out. Or do your rehearsal further out if possible (maybe a week) so you have time to adjust.

I kept meaning to test how long it took to walk.. and kept forgetting lol.

I have a 4 minute song and am hoping it covers the 4 bridesmaids and me. I'll do a test of it on Friday when i drop the decor off and scramble to make a change with the DJ the night of the wedding if I need to. lol

I have chosen two songs - the first song for the bridesmaids (4) and ring bearer/flower girl who are walking down together and a second song for my dad and I

I have a short walk and when I walked it it took me 20 seconds. Since it's so quick we are doing the instrumental version of A Thousand Years while everyone walks down the aisle and when I come out it's going to switch to the version with words, the 4 min song is plenty long enough for this

Lol there are 3 sets of like 5 steps I have to walk down too 😂 that's why I'm just wearing flats, not risking falling or tripping 😂

This makes me want a 15 foot walk only hahaha. The further the walk, the more opportunity for me to trip and fall on my face 😂

The aisle walks depends in the church or outdoor venue.

A short distance given space can be up to 5 minutes.

Long aisle distance with the wedding party say 5 -7 minutes and then the bride 2 - 3 minutes.

We’re having three, one for the groom and and GM, one for the BM and then one for my flower girl/ ring bearer and me and my parents. Outside country wedding and I don’t plan on letting each song play through all the way. People tend to walk fast haha so I think 5 mins is fair.

It takes aprox 3 minutes to get down the isle (outdoor wedding, and crazy long walk) so at least 6 for the GM and BM and then 3 for me and my dad. We’re going to have a harp play while everyone walks down the isle, one song, for the groomsmen and bridesmaids, and another for when I walk down, so myself and my dad have a special song to remember and not just the butt end of another one Smiley smile
