Centrepieces

Rebecca, on June 11, 2019 at 16:32 Posted in DIY 0 17

I am at a complete loss.

We are starting to look at centerpieces as we want to DIY so this allows us to get the materials and actually make them, however we have no idea what to do!

Our colors are orange, burgundy and navy. With table clothes being navy with peachy orange napkins so I want to add burgundy to the centerpieces. Looking for a cheap idea if anyone has! Our tables are round with 8 people each. We want to stay away from flowers as that becomes expensive very quickly.

Anyone else have this problem?

Try looking into paper flowers, candles or mini stick trees I think those are the cheapest decor for centrepieces

Got excited today the fake candles and lanterns (?) came in! Put it together just to check and I'm super excited, it's simple but still nice! Although I will not be using those flowers lol.

That'll look great! You'll have to share a picture when they're ready.

Those are beautiful!! You must be so happy!

I did kind of come up with centerpieces since I wrote this post.

We decided on small vases with sola flowers (even more sold after seeing Marissas flowers) with candles in lanterns like the ones from ikea and small picture frames for the table numbers.

Thanks everyone for all the ideas!

Ideas reflecting your vision apart from flowers: I do find that these can bring the colour of what you may be interested in.

    Hi Rebecca,

You can do so much with DIY centrepieces! Those colours sound amazing together. I have included some links below to help you out with some DIY centrepieces. There are so many you can do without flowers. We are not having flower centrepieces either. We are just having a long table runner of greenery. I did my own DIY centrepieces to go with it. I just bought a bunch of glass vases from IKEA, and some pretty lacey looking candle holders and spray painted them rose gold. We will be filling some of the vases with water and floating candles, and the rest just with candles. This was super cheap to do!

That's super pretty, and easy too. I was thinking lanterns but again they are expensive and add up. I will be keeping an eye out after wedding season for some second hand ones for sale.

We did lantern centrepieces that we spray painted to match our theme (they were silver) and then we just put wood slices underneath that my husband cut himself and then some fake ivy vines. Each centrepiece cost us $40 and that’s because the lanterns were $30 each! Super easy to DIY too

For sure, and you're welcome! I loved the idea of keeping mine as well. Plus, the wedding party gets to keep their bouquets and boutonnieres.

If you don't mind a picture when you get them I would love to see them!!

Thanks so much for the idea, I'm looking into them more and I'm really loving them! Every major life event that I get flowers from I dry them out and keep them so the fact that they keep so well fits with that weird tradition I have. It also allows me to do small centerpieces with them and not feel like its empty.

Also, she works to your budget. You tell her what you want to spend, and she lets you know what kind of arrangements will work for you.

I'm going to look into those. Even for my bouquet if not for all my centerpieces!

Not sure how budget you want to go, but all my floral arrangements are sola flowers. They can be dyed any colours you want and you get to keep them afterwards. They were about half of what real flowers would have cost.
