Centerpiece Help!

Casey, on February 22, 2019 at 14:37 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8

I just met with our wedding planner this week to look at some decor options. We can use anything that our venue has in their decor room (signs, centerpieces, votives, etc), so lets just say this was my happy place seeing all the options!

I am going for a rustic chic look, but don't want anything over the top. Originally I wanted a tree stump base for the centerpiece with a wine bottle (with lights inside) and then a little floral arrangement. This would have fit if we were having our reception outside, but now we have switched inside and I don't feel like it will go with the room.

Star Light Room

This ^ is the room that our reception will be held in. The ceiling is all stars that twinkle and the odd shooting star goes across, its really beautiful.

I have gone through a million Pinterest ideas, but wonder if anyone has some other options, or out of the box ideas that would work Smiley smile

I mean.... you could always have some friends over for a wine night and specify that you would appreciate clear bottles..... lol any excuse to drink!

The vases are amazing height and tall. Foam cut to the size of the top vase with long artificial flowers could work and water filled halfway with floating tealights to give that elegant feel to the room. Blue water tint is an idea to go with the ceiling effect.

    Thank you!
Its funnt you mention the floating candles, there were a set of 3 that they had in different sizes that can be used! I may have to take another look at those ones!
I did love the wine bottles, but the ones they have are all dark coloured glass and not clear Smiley sad
Just trying to keep costs down and use what the venue has available

    I LOVE your reception space!!

I think what I would do for centrepieces is maybe some jars with water in them with a floating candle on top - inside the water you could have branches and/or pine cones (would have to glue it to the bottom to keep it from floating of course).

That or glittery gold mason jars with lights in them.

I do still think that the wine bottles are a good look but only if they are clear and not green (or any other colour for that matter).

Tealights and candles I think would be your friends in this room. Love the geometric shape idea, add some flowers to soften the shape. Maybe a geometric shape with greenery and a battery operated tealight sitting in the greenery?

Ooo i like the pinecone idea!

I am hoping to keep them very minimal so that all our planner has to do is place them. It will depend what it comes down to.

My sister suggested geometric lanterns (in gold for our accent colour) and then add some greenery

    So many options! lol

Ooooh! Pretty. I think you'll definitely want to go with candles of some sort. And water maybe? Or maybe candles and pinecones?

Maybe babies breath in mason jars to mimic the starlit ceiling? (maybe paint the mason jars? Are mason jars too trendy? I usually buck trends but so team mason jar)

Would you be diy-ing the centrepieces or having your planner do them, or hiring someone?
