We are having a small wedding of 25 - 35 people. We were looking at a catering company who can provide all the plates/cutlery/glasses, linens and tablecloths, buffet style with cleanup included. They want around $45/plate, because they charge extra for small parties.

I think this is a fair price, just wondering if anyone had any alternative ideas to bring costs down? I'm still considering a food truck or potluck to keep our costs down as our budget is quite small, does anyone have any experience with these ??

Not bad! maybe you can bring ur own decor? or bring ur own cups/plates/napkins etc to keep the price down!

I would agree the price seems fair though plastic cutlery/plates and more are way less at Dollarama given the colour(s) you like or want to include.
Catering companies are charging per person and for small weddings, it seems more than the usual amount quoted.
Potluck would be a good way to cut costs down or having trays from supermarkets out with variety to lay out for guests to help themselves.

Given that this includes plates/cutlery/linens I think that this is a great price. We got food for 200 people at $20/person plus tax but they didn't include those things. I would say to keep looking for a better price elsewhere but it sounds good to me!
