I am trying to get costs down and the amount for catering I find crazy. We are doing a church wedding and then reception at a hall at a campground. I was thinking because its there I could get away with a bbq style. When I say that I was thinking of doing beef on a bun (my dad can get the beef cheaper since he's a butcher), buns from Costco, thinking salads like mac & cheese, potato, pasta salad (greek or something), ceaser salad and my friend has offered to pay for the deserts.
Would you be okay with this type of meal if you came to a wedding? Our wedding is a rustic style as well. I was thinking about doing all the prep myself for the food a few days before and then put it all together night before with the wedding party. We are able to set up the Friday and it is on Saturday. Leave it all in kitchen and hire someone to set up all the food for us. Whoever is cooking the beef we are going to see if they have anyone we can hire through them.
