Can anyone recommend a seamstress / tailor in Toronto / gta area?

jbss, on June 4, 2018 at 10:26 Posted in Ontario 0 9

I went to one in downtown Toronto and they couldn't even give an exact quote ("we'll tell you how much you have to pay when you pick up the dress").. but it is looking to be around $1500!! Wondering if anyone knows a good tailor in Toronto and GTA area that won't charge me so much?

I was recommended Emerald at www.theperfectfitbyemerald.com.

She hasn't done my dress yet, but she comes super highly recommended - she's in Toronto, just East of DVP.

I can give you her number if you want

I have a great girl but she's in Hamilton. VERY good work, super lovely (she does it out of her house) and great pricing.

Just had her do my dress: Completely altered the top tulle layer, hemmed the three other layers, added a bit of lace, added 6 bustles, shortened the straps and removed this weird mesh in the boob area for $130 dollars.

She did my mom's dress too for $120.. had to hem it, removed and reinstall the zipper and had to take up the top part which was all beadwork.

I can give you her number if you're interested.

It's been around 2 years since I had my bridesmaid dress altered but I bought it at One Love One Dream in Courtice and got it altered in the basement shop of the same building but I can't, for the life of me, remember the name of the shop ☹ but the alterations for my bridesmaid dress was no more then $200, it's worth a shot and you can always go on Facebook and search for One love one dream and chat with them and get the number of the business.....good luck in your search 😊 and congratulations

I really like Cadillac Cleaners on Rogers road.
Alternatively, try getting a list from the store where you bought your dress.
    Good luck!
