Cake itself is very low on our priority list so we have decided we're just gunna get a small plain white cake from the grocery store for cutting purposes. We are gunna have a dessert table with lots of options!

Sometimes simple designs are wonderful! Hahaha my fiance hates anything pumpkin spice so I totally understand! A lot of people these days are having cupcakes at their weddings. Our friends had cupcakes for the guests and had a small cake for the cake cutting and for themselves.

My mom has been making family birthday cakes for years now. She's retired and it is her hobby. She really wanted to make the cake for our wedding. Since there is so much going on right before a wedding I asked her to only make a tall small cutting cake and I'd buy cupcakes from someone else. I took to pinterest and have sent her ideas for so long of what I like. I bought the cake tipper. I have kept the design simple but pretty. There is so many designs we can go with. A new local bakery had a cake tasting and they cakes were really good so I think I'll go with them. Unfortunately I loved the pumpkin spice cake and FH wouldn't even try it so I can't really pick that one....though I suppose with cupcakes you can choose a couple different flavours easily enough.

WOW!! I love the design of it!! Simple but still very elegant

I'm still obsessed with our cake. I do cakes and cupcakes on the side so this was a big deal for me. The person who did our cake has a deal with the venue so it was part of our package, leaving me incredibly nervous about what it would taste like. Generally I find wedding cakes terribly dry as the focus seems to be too heavy on the design and not at all on the actual taste. Thankfully she was at our tasting event and even let me take home 6 cupcakes for my husband who couldn't attend. HOLY CRAP. Seriously the best cupcakes I've ever had. Every flavour was outstanding. For the largest/bottom tier, we went with classic chocolate cake and chocolate fudge buttercream between the layers; the middle tear was vanilla with vanilla bean butter cream, and the top tier was lemon with coconut cloud butter cream 🤤🤤. The outside was all vanilla buttercream. I sent the baker my inspo pics (that my husband agreed with) and she nailed my dream cake. And yes we had this for only 50 people in the end. I'm not complaining about leftovers 😍

We had three flavours: strawberry vanilla, Greek chocolate, and mille feuille. Guests were able to pick their preferred flavour when they RSVP.

We kept our hero cake to one tier as it was really only for photos sake. The slices that everyone else ate came prepared individually. The venue only had to serve. This also allowed us to customize the cake order to an exact count as opposed to ordering whole cakes of each flavour.
