It can definitely be done. I’d talk to your venue about logistics and how they expect the day to work with that in mind. The good thing is any guests with dietary needs will be served separately so that will trim your list down.

All my family weddings have been buffet. they call a few tables at a time and everyone just drinks and socializes till their table is called. i love buffet style

Worked for our guests! That was roughly how many guests and tables we had as well!!

We hired a few servers to serve the head table but then we had our immediate family go first, then anybody with a dietary need (such as a vegans, celiacs, or somebody with diabetes that have to eat at certain times), and then we had questions that people would jump up and shout the answer first.

Questions were like - what is the Bride's birthday? What is the Groom's birthday? When did they get engaged? etc.
