buffet menu cards

Hi alll!

my wedding is two months away and I’m now getting overwhelmed haha so please don’t mind the many discussion posts that will be posted by me Smiley smile

I’m Pakistani and our wedding reception is a fusion between my Canadian side and Pakistani side! I’m born in Canada but have stayed close to the culture and wanted to represent best of both worlds.

For dinner, I am having a few live stations (pizza pasta Lebanese etc) as well as Pakistani foods (not live but serves as a buffet). There will be no table service.

dor dessert, the same vibe. A lot of interactive stations (ice cream bar, live filled pastries) and then the standard cookies donuts and Pakistani Indian deserts.

my question is that my wedding falls on a Sunday as a lot of venues don’t allow external caterers otherwise. And I know people would want to leave early but my parents and I put a lot of love in choosing these meals and want to entice them to stay ... hence thinking of buffet menu cards on the table.

how would you guys suggest they be written if I am having stations and buffet items? I’m a little confused. And what do you think of this idea?

Not a lot of Pakistani weddings cater to small details like menu cards so I kind of want to emphasize how special these are; especially since my fiancé and I are known to be foodies.

kindly share your ideas suggestions and feedback! Oh an any style ideas you have

Thanks guys! Everyone knows it’s not table service as it’s not common to have that for a Pakistani wedding lol but it’s more because it’s an October wedding so not a lot of people are on summer vacation and tend to leave quite early due to work so I feel if they know what’s coming then it’s perfect

I like the idea of the menu cards on a table like you would have if you went a restaurant. Were your guests told ahead of time that it isn’t plated and there will be lots of food? If they were I don’t think you should have a problem with people leaving early! Especially with that much food!

That would make me stay for sure if I knew exactly what was coming (as long as it sounded good - I'm a bit picky). I like how Taylor said to write them up like a menu would have it. Just make sure to include what time they will be available though as nobody wants to wait around for food just to keep waiting and waiting and then find out they left right before it came out!

Just make sure you explain what is in the food. like what kind of pizzas, what kind of ingredients are in the pakistani foods. Consider writing them like you would see at a restaurant.

Your idea has been done for stations as my eldest brother had sangeet evening with chaat stations available to guests to enjoy as well as buffet. There was selection and nothing put on the tables to let them know what stations will be serving.

    Suggestions:

    1. Place a folded card on all tables for guests to know what stations you have serving what kind of food as well as buffet. Each station can be carded to what that particular food is for guests to eat.

    2. Have the layout printed on a sheet that will have indication of what station is where and what is it serving in order to go there easy. A card of the same layout and the numbers indicating of the stations on the opposite side as it can be easy to carry with them while mingling.
