Buffet Food

Kyla, on September 23, 2018 at 15:56 Posted in Wedding reception 0 4
Outdoor tent wedding - no kitchen onsite....approx 175 people. Needs to be made before hand and delivered by caterer. Isolated/remote area so catering is limited.

Types of food for buffet that I can suggest to caterer?...He asked me what I was interested in...I asked his options but would like your helpful input so that food is enjoyable. Thanks!

Sliced beef, chicken cutlets with lemon wedges, string beans/carrots, roast potatoes, home style mac & cheese (all will hold in those food transport containers, rolls, salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Just some of my favourites!

I agree - stay away from the cream (potato salad, macaroni salad - Caesar salad too even though that makes me sad Smiley tongue)

I would think that the food being served at my venue would be ok though - pulled pork, chicken legs, baked potatoes... hmmm we have a fridge and stove though so we will be having potato and Caesar salads... I think that if you were okay with a low key wedding like mine will be (as much as it can be for 250 people), then any BBQ type foods should be fine Smiley smile

Meat and veg lasagnas, assorted wraps, potato wedges along with garlic bread and plain salad. Oil and vinegar dressing is the easiest to keep out. Pies/pastries/cupcakes besides wedding cake is a nice variety to have to serve.

You want to pick things that can keep warm easily and transport well!! Nothing with too much dairy that can spill in the sun!
Maybe like chicken parmesean, a veggie lasagna! Roasted veggies on a side, rice dishes. I would avoid salads with creamy dressings (potato salads too)
