Buffet Dinner 200+ Guests

Definitely ask the caterer on their opinion about what they think of this, and then go off of that.

At a buffet i find i eat everything like a little bit of each item. you should ask your cater! also i find people will RSVP for one thing then choose another on the day of!

If you are having multiple entrees, I would have somewhere on the RSVP for guests to select which one they want. I'd also talk to your caterer about this, they probably have experience with multiple entrees/how much to prepare for guests.

I'd stongly suggest having a section on the RSVP for people to mention any allergies/dietary requirements. If you have any vegetarians, they won't be eating any of the 3 meat options.

I would for sure ask them on the RSVP which one they would like. Then keep track of it in a spreadsheet and maybe do what some others have done and put a little coloured sticker on their name place so they remember or know what it is they asked for.

Buffet to serve guests of your meat choices can be 1 full tray full or half tray depending on how much you think people will eat. Self serve is not accountable for knowing who will eat what meat unless it was plated service. That's when you would need to know how many exactly to have of each meat to serve.

Buffet style is just easy and cutting down your costs for the quantity you get. Always best to see what the cost is for what you want and extras if you want to have other meats available to your guests.

Invitation wise, allergies or vegans/vegetarians should be noted so you have an idea of what look into meals to serve those guests.

I went to a wedding that did that a couple of years ago, so I think it might be a normal thing to do. When I went up to get food they asked which I selected and I couldn't remember, though, Lol. I think doing that will give them an idea and they will obviously make extras of all of them in case of people like me!
