Budgets for flowers

Lora, on September 26, 2017 at 12:45 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 6

Hi ladies (& Gents)

I have never really been knowledgeable in the flowers industry. Just wondering what a norma budget can range from for flowers as I am starting to get prices from companies. What’s considered “expensive” and what considered reasonable when it comes to flowers. I dont want to spend a fortune on something that’s going to die a few days after the wedding.

Thanks!

Prices can range for a million different reasons, but when you're comparing floral costs with others you definitely want to think about quantity!! I think the easiest way to ask is 'what did you spend on your bouquet?' or 'what was your price per centerpiece?' - because that will take your personal quantities out of the equation.

When talking with a florist, the best ways to effect the total cost are to adjust your volume (size per bouquet or arrangement), and the type of flower (example: peonies are more expensive than hydrangeas).

My other best floral budgeting tips are to re-use your bridesmaid bouquets as part of the reception centerpieces or cocktail tables, and to vary the size and height of your reception centerpieces!

I'm having the same dilema and was recommended Costco, so i think i will be ordering them a few weeks before and receive a day before.

I got my roses from Costco at $22.00 for 2 dozen. Those were my centre pieces. All the other flowers came from the Dollar store and for less than $100. Here are some photos of what I made from cheap flowers and it was quite easy.

It all depends on what you want! Do you want real or fake flowers? Are you just doing flowers for bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages, or are you doing flowers for centerpieces and decorations as well?

We paid 900$ for flowers (which seemed to be pretty average)... that being said, the price we paid is for 1 bridal bouquet, 1 bridal toss bouquet, 6 bridesmaids bouquets, 7 groomsmen boutonnieres, 4 father/grandfather boutonnieres, and 5 mother/grandmother corsages. Our florist is also delivering all bouquets in vases so that they stay hydrated, and once we are done with the ceremony, the bouquets can go in the vases on the head table as aded decoration!

Adding flowers to tables/decor will obviously up your price a bit! Make sure to look around - get different quotes from different places and see what they'll offer you.

If you want real flowers they are more expensive that real ones depending. That's why I'm doing faux. But its up to you. my budget for flowers is max 600. and that's for 3 bridesmaids, the bride, and flower girls bouquet since I'm not doing the basket.

I spent about $500 for 3 bouquets, 3 corsages and 6 boutonnieres and upgrading from boutonniere pins to magnets.
