I asked my girls pretty early in person within a few months of getting engaged last year, and then finally I had them all together in January of this year to give them their proposal gifts.

I don't think it's too early to ask, it's probably on all of their mind's already since you just got engaged

I would say it depends on who you are asking. For me I am about 11 months away from my wedding and I have only asked one, and will do the rest before the end of the month. I got engaged June 2018 and I decided to wait a year to see if some friendships still remained, mainly because I met them during law school and was not sure if things would change after we graduated and moved cities. Luckily things are still the same! For me, there is such a thing as too early, so just make sure that you have solid friendships with them and that they will support you throughout the process. My scenario may not apply to you and you may have been friends with them forever, but I think September/October would be good!

Haha fair enough! I'm also 3 months to my day so it's a little late for me!

Right now, they are getting matching tote bags, fuzzy socks, engraved compact mirrors, and a silver knot bracelet with their initial on it.

I didn't really do a proposal, I just asked them in person lol. I kinda wish I did, but I'm definitely putting more effort into the thank-you gifts!

It hurt but right now I am only 2 months away and thankful for everyone who has helped me so much with the whole process. The girls who are left are amazing and wouldn't have it any other way!

Oh man, I'm so sorry this happened. That's the last thing that should be happening especially for your big day. I can only imagine the emotions you must have felt. But don't let that phase you. What's important is that you are celebrating the love and unity with you and your FH and that's what matters

I think August and September are a good time to ask at the 1 year mark. I asked all of mine by 18 months ahead, and I don't regret it. By then I had waited a bit until after the engagement so I felt confident about my picks. (Got engaged October 2017, started asking bridesmaids in the new year).

I had a few people in my wedding party have this- one my sister who is older and not yet married- ended up being extremely bitter about it all and made it known at all events she did attend that related to my wedding. Which out of everything was only one event. The other was getting married same year and said she didn't care if got married 2 months after but she changed a lot through the past year and now she isn't in my wedding and we don't talk. I supported all of her events but she couldn't bring herself to support mine.

It is never too early in my eyes! I asked my girls in June of last year for our October wedding this year! So more than a year in advance.

This way it gives them time to plan, and save up money!

I asked 2 years in advance! i got engaged in may 2018 and had asked all the girls by July 2018
for our June 2020 wedding!

I was confident in asking my MOH... who actually just assumed the role But she knew she would be my MOH and I was going to be hers since we both pinky promised this to each other when we were 5 and 7 years old (sisters).

For the rest I waited until the 1 year mark just to be sure. I proposed to my FH on December 30th 2017 and we are getting married October 5th 2019 so I waited like 10 months before asking them!

If you are confident in who you want then whenever you want. I would wait till August though just incase and gives you idea of who sticks around and all that. Some people change when their friends get engaged and you don't expect it.

It’s totally up to you I think! We asked our brother and sister in February 2019 for our July 2020 wedding.

its an exciting time so I don’t necessarily think it’s ever too early!
