Bridesmaid gifts

Marissa, on June 10, 2019 at 12:26 Posted in Before the wedding 0 8
How much is everyone spending on their bridesmaid gifts?
Our wedding venue is at a villa, so everyone in the wedding party is getting their own room with private bathroom at no expense to them ( room is for their spouses as well). I am paying for their hair to be done on the day of the wedding. My bridesmaids are really good at applying make up so they will be doing their own. I was thinking for their gift I would get them mani/pedi's before the wedding. But is that really a gift as it's for my wedding? I was also considering instead of the typical robe, getting pj sets as I think they will more likely be used again (pjs would be added to the mani/pedi). I don't really want to do the jewelry gift, as everyone has a different style. They paid for their own dresses at $170 each. And then for my bachelorette they are taking me on a wine tour and we are all staying the night at a nice resort. What's an appropriate price range for their gifts? Thank you

I'd say this is a gift - it is like if you were paying for their make-up/hair for your wedding day. Plus if you can swing it - having a mini spa day with the gals before the wedding would be a lovely treat. Time is a valuable gift!

I'm spending quite a bit ($300), but in my defense, I only have one bridesmaid (my sister).

Ok. So is the mani/pedi considered a gift? Because they would be getting the mani/pedi done for my wedding even though I am paying for it.

I agree with the other ladies! $50-100 seems fair considering you are paying for the accommodation.

I think that right now with you paying for accomodations for them - I would say that the gifts should be closer to the $50 mark but at the top $100 like Becky said.

They may be paying for their dresses, but just like how it is expected of the Bride and Groom to pay for a gift on the day of the wedding - it is expected of the BM's and GM's to pay for their outfit and the bachelor/bachelorette parties.

I will most likely give my girls a budget of $100 and have them tell me what they want. I'm very blunt and up front so this doesn't phase them that I go straight to them to ask. (Most want their eyebrows threaded and a couple want to get sugaring/waxing.)

I am sort of in the same position, with my girls paying for a lot of their own stuff (half of the hair cost, their dresses and diy make up).

For gifts, I bought them flannel shirts to be able to wear again after the wedding as a regular day-to-day thing, I got them a $10 gift card, I hand-painted their names and wedding party roles onto wooden hangers, and I bought them each a candle from Bath and Body Works.. so in total I spent about $100 on each girl. However I only have 4 bridesmaids so this was a reasonable cost for my fiancé and I. I think we spent more on the groomsmen tbh but don't tell them that lol

As the other girls said I think $50-100 would be more than okay (:

It depends on your budge as well. Like Becky said, I think 50 - 100 is reasonable.

I am paying for my girls hair and makeup, which is $100 each girl for both services. Then I am giving them personalized water bottles, and hair ties. This way they have water all day, and can use it later.

I would say anywhere from 50-100. You are paying for lots already and what average costs most people say they spend what mentioned. I am doing robes, then diff gifts for each girl because so diff. I thought about the whole jewelry thing but they are all so different.
