Bride&groom table

We have a very small party, so we will be doing a sweetheart table with our party infront or beside us.

My fiance and I have a pretty big wedding party ( 9 couples to be exact) so we are going to have our siblings with their significant other and MOH/BM sit beside us. The rest of the wedding party will be sitting at round tables on each side of our table. This way they are still with us but more comfortable and not super squished while they eat.

We’re having our bridal party sit with us. I wouldn’t want it any other way personally. They’re supporting us through everything between bridal party, bachelor bachelorette party etc ... I think it’s a great way to honour that by having them sit with us

We will just be having a sweetheart table with my husband and I. But then again, our wedding party and gust list are both very small so we need as many tables filled as possible

I like the idea of a table for just the couple. You'll be bouncing around talking to everyone so take time to sit and eat together and enjoy each other's company.

Similar to the comments here, we also did a sweetheart table so that our bridal party could be with their plus ones. We did it this way because I've been the plus one before and my husband was up there with the bridal party and it wasn't as fun as it could've. So we really just wanted everyone to enjoy themselves.


Someone did comment that we looked a little lonely up there haha. But we really enjoyed it just being the two of us. Also we kept getting up to socialize with the guests anyway so we didn't stay sitting the whole time.

We had our MOH sit with her husband and our BM sit with his family so they could enjoy a relaxed evening with the people they love. My husband and I had a sweetheart table and it was perfect. It gave us time to talk together about the plans for the evening (we played lots of games because of the lack of dancing) and just enjoy each other's company without having to chat with others. For those who worry about being the center of attention at a sweetheart table, I honestly didn't feel that way....we were in our own little bubble and I barely noticed anyone else 😉

My husband and I had 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. I didn’t want a big head table of 10. I just wanted to enjoy the evening with my husband. So we did a sweetheart table and it was lovely.

I think we are just going to do a normal table with us, his BM and BM's wife and my MOH and her husband. I don't want a bunch of pictures while I'm eating. I just want to enjoy the meal and then have the dance part.

FH and I will be having a sweetheart table, we really wanted the time alone to enjoy our first meal together as husband and wife and to let our wedding party sit with their partners and kids. It just made sense for us since we also don't have room at our reception venue to space out 12 people comfortably enough at a single table.

How big is your bridal party? If it only consists of your MOH and Best Man, then it might be weird for them to be up there by themselves with the two of you. If you have a bigger group, like 3-4+ per side, it would make having them up there with you more appealing.

How do you feel about attention? If you hate the idea that everyone's eyes are on you, consider having the gang up there with you.

Or, how many in your bridal party have +1s attending? If majority of them do, consider sitting up there solo and letting them be with their partners at dinner.
