I mean... there's nothing set in stone that says you should have it 2 months before - it's just what people do.

If you absolutely don't want your bridal shower in the winter then it would be fine to move it, but like Kelsie said, give LOTS of notice because I'm not sure about others but unless told in early spring/ end of winter, I will be booking my camping since it always books up so fast. Now would be the time to send out the invites imo (or rather maybe save the dates or something).

My wedding date is winter as well but I'm going to do my bachelorette party in september because I want better weather. You know your crowd if you don't think they would mind doing you shower in august I would do it when you want. I want to do a wine tour and I don't think any of us would enjoy it in January.

Really you can have it whenever you want, I think. My shower was about 3 months before my wedding, but I’ve been to ones that are further away from the wedding than that.

Usually bridal showers are closer to the wedding. Mine is 2.5 months before the wedding. It doesn’t mean you can’t have one in the summer.
