Bridal Shower Invitation Wording Amid covid

Sabrina, on February 3, 2021 at 06:44 Posted in Before the wedding 0 4
Hello Everyone,

I'm slowly picking up where I left off (a bit apprehensive because I've had to postpone once already). With everything being in a constant state of change, how did you word your invitation? I'm worried about sending 50 invites, for example, and then - due to a change in max. capacity indoors - only permitted to host 25 guests. Has anyone put something like, "pending government regulations"? (My shower is the end of May and my wedding is the end of June, both in Toronto - been experiencing a lot of stress about both again with all that's going on in the world ☹ ).

    Thanks everyone!

I think I've come up with a simple plan that will save me the trouble of sending out multiple things at different times.
An invitation with a separate disclaimer card about the restrictions. If restrictions allow only 25 people then I'll have to reach out to a few guests.
Thinking of e-invites for most guests and/or printing them myself to save some money.

I think a lot of people expect plans to change right now as our restrictions keep changing too.

If you do want to keep people posted maybe have a link to a wedding website that is about the shower? For example "for more details and to keep you all posted on our plans please visit (insert link here)". You could also request an rsvp by email so that you have a method to contact everyone (or almost everyone) at once by saying "please rsvp at (email) " or "please email me at (email) to confirm you'll attend and so I can reach you if our plans change".

Your concern for your guests are true for what's happening and the postponement to keep up to date. You can put the phrase Please watch for updates during for further information. It will have them know your events will be changed based on plans on hold.

Honestly, I don’t even think you need to include any special wording regarding the pandemic. Everyone knows it will be pending government regulations. I would just do your shower invite as planned, and if regulations change, call those who don’t make the cut (so to speak) and inform them I apologize but due to government regulations etc etc.
